Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 08, 2013 9:29 pm Does anyone know if it is a requirement in nsw under council's regulation if fencing is required after the demolition and before the commencement of building construction? Scenario: Demolisher put up fence for 3 days and will remove it straight away after the demolition. Builder will inspect vacant land after demolition (don't know when) and will only put fence up when inspection completed. There will be a lag of a few days without fence. Is it a requirement to fence up the property during this lag? Re: Fencing requirement during demolition 2Aug 09, 2013 7:20 am If the council doesn't know about it I wouldn't worry about it unless your site is unsafe as in a 1m drop from the nature strip onto your property etc. It would be more to do with your local council rather than NSW laws. Stewie Re: Fencing requirement during demolition 3Aug 09, 2013 9:04 pm The council is not your main concern. Illegal dumpers are. They troll looking for vacant blocks that are easy to get in, dump, and get away. I ended up with 2 load of very dirty mixed rubbish fill on my block after my knock down was completed. Funnily though even nearing handover of the new house someone dumped 3 massive bags of waffle pod from another build on my block as soon as the builder fence was taken down. Yes it is as I already said but unless a council inspector drives past every day they won't see it unfenced - in the short term anyway. Stewie Thanks Draftroom that definitely helps a heap.
