Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Is it worth hiring furniture stylist when selling the ho 4Jul 26, 2013 10:35 am It might just be me but I think the furniture (which I might dislike) is the last thing I would look at when viewing a property, and I agree with Qebtel. The soundness of the struture is far more important than the stuff in it Arfur Re: Is it worth hiring furniture stylist when selling the ho 5Jul 26, 2013 2:09 pm Do you have furniture already in the home? If it was a choice between selling the house empty or hiring furniture, I would be tempted to hire furniture. Often an empty house looks smaller than what it really is, and it is sometimes hard to picture how you would use the space. In this case I would be tempted to go for a few basics just to represent space better. If the house has furniture, but it is aged, worn etc I would just sell it as is. As many have said people do not really pay attention to the furniture as they are not buying the furniture, they are buying the house. Re: Is it worth hiring furniture stylist when selling the ho 6Jul 26, 2013 5:03 pm Good question. It really depends on your market. If it's an expensive house the cost is minimal. If it is empty I would at least gety some furniture. Buyers usually have no vision. If they can see furntiure in there they can estimate how their furniture will fit. Even if you borrow some furniture. A nice bed with a mat and a painting is better than an empty room. People that buy renovate sell for a living always style houses. It does make a difference. But these are houses that they don't live in. Re: Is it worth hiring furniture stylist when selling the ho 7Jul 27, 2013 1:49 pm Jasmine hi qebtel; I meant hiring furniture and accessories. Having seen few homes with hired furniture; it does present the home in its full potential. I know thats what you meant and my comment is the same. Furniture is just "dressing", it has nothing to do with the potential of a property. Potential is unique to each buyer and how they see the houses potential for their needs. Trendy furniture and feng shui is for upscaling expensive properties where people with more money than sense are influenced by such things. Spend the money if you wish , but you wont get a higher price.
