Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Kitchen rangehood external vent not installed 21Nov 12, 2013 8:55 am Hi everyone, Apologies about the late update. Simonds actually installed the external vent without issue. It took them only a few weeks for a spot to become availiable and then the trady came out. The only thing that concerns me is that the trady who installed the external vent did not even have the courtesy to telephone me or Simonds to advise he was coming out, he just come out whilst we were at work and no one was home, entered our roof by lifting up the roof tiles, did his job and left without informing us or Simonds. We only found out that the job was done when I followed up with Simonds for an update, who in turn contacted the trady. Anyway, I am glad the job is done and thanks everyone for your comments. Cheers, Re: Kitchen rangehood external vent not installed 22Nov 12, 2013 9:09 am hahaha, very s-neaky! oh well at least it got done Re: Kitchen rangehood external vent not installed 23Nov 24, 2013 5:20 pm I think you will find that they do have to do it, missed or not. I did one of these jobs myself and it only took about an hour. This depends of course on how exactly one has to go about it.Like - unit is on external wall or internal. And do we have posi trusses to allow space for a duct etc? cheers The unit normally clips into a metal plate screwed to the wall, either plate is not flush, or unit not hooked in and could be hanging from the pipes partly, either might… 2 15775 How do you remove one of these ceiling air con vents? And is it possible to disconnect the duct joined to the vent from inside the house, without going into the roof cavity? 0 5907 |
