HIgh Gloss Timber Laminate

Am nearing the end of building a new house through Henley.

Accordingly, I have to decide what flooring to use. I have come across the high gloss timber laminate, which I really like and is about a quarter of the cost of real timber.

I suppose I would love to hear of any persons experiences with high gloss timber laminate, its durability, is it easily scratched, does it fade, etc?

Any advice will be much appreciated.

I'm not familiar with this particular brand, but judging from the 7mm thickness and the fact its a veneer over HDF, I don't imagine you could do anything once it was scratched to fix it.

I had a look at the site; I love the words in brackets below…

Be weary of the words “resistance”.
Heres how it goes with full gloss anything!

Scratches show far easier, your foot prints will be left from one room to the next if you don’t wear shoes in the house, and I suggest you don’t… with full gloss flooring.

It will need to be kept clean all the time to actually get that full gloss look, more so than a satin finish.

This is“clip lock” flooring; you should check how far down the colour of the flooring penetrates the boards; one tiny scratch could leave a really obvious mark.

I personally would stay away from anything that is that shiny for any surface, excepts tiles..

I am not saying this flooring is bad, it looks great, see what grades it comes, if it has anything resembling a commercial grade I would go with that.

Otherwise good luck with it, and keep the mop handy :wink:
