Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 14, 2013 3:12 pm We are currently looking at companies to build our new home with. We have a few drawing up some plans and designs etc, but....... There is one sales man that I am particularly unhappy with. We chatted briefly at the display, and he agreed to email some similar plans through. He did this that day, which was good. We have since sent him two emails with suggestions/ideas/plans/questions - I have even done a rough sketch for him regarding changes etc. We've sent him our contour survey and site details. Heard nothing for nearly two weeks. I emailed him today to chase up his plans, and he tells me the plan is looking good, and can I make a time to come back to his display over the weekend to look at it. Compared to the other guys we've seen, who have been to our home to see the site, drawn plans, chatted to us about our needs and wants, redrawn plans, and started to discuss/negotiate inclusions etc, this guy is very much lacking. I don't want to write the company off our list though, as I'm keen to see what they can offer. I just don't really like this persons attitude or lack of interest. So - after all that - can I just go to a different display home with them and start again with someone else? Or now that we've kind of started the process with that guy, do we need to stick with him? What is the etiquette here? My Building Thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66087 Re: Etiquette regarding homes sales people? 2Jun 15, 2013 6:03 pm I would just head to another display home find some one else to speak with and explain to them that while you would love to discuss your options with the company however the ball is rolling a little to slowly with the other guy, most companies appreciate feedback both good and bad - they probably have no idea how slack he actually is Re: Etiquette regarding homes sales people? 3Jun 15, 2013 7:14 pm Perhaps he is just busy and prefers face to face contact with clients he hasnt got to chase and fuss over Arfur Re: Etiquette regarding homes sales people? 4Jun 15, 2013 9:56 pm We went to a display much further from home and engaged with a different salesman there because the one close to home was hopeless. Good luck! Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65085 Re: Etiquette regarding homes sales people? 5Jun 16, 2013 9:57 am Thanks everyone. We are going to try someone new today.
