EXPERIENCES PLEASE! 21Dec 13, 2013 10:40 pm Well it's been 6 months since we've had our bamboo floors down and they are still perfect. No lifting or warping, cupping or anything that we were warned about by the "bamboo scaremongerers." My Thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63545 Re: BAMBOO VS TILES!! THE FIGHT IS ON! Re: BAMBOO VS TILES!! THE FIGHT IS ON! EXPERIENCES PLEASE! 23Dec 28, 2013 4:23 pm YAO, Yet Another Opinion. We're about to start owner building our new house. Our last house for 28 years was carpeted everywhere except the wet areas. The rental we're currently in is carpeted bedrooms and floating timer floors. What I have experienced here is that you should not put them in a kitchen, due to the crap that gets spilt on the floor and the concern that if you allow water to pool up anywhere on it, it can be a rip up and replace option. This rental's kitchen looks filthy most of the time, unless it gets mopped daily. Our new house is going to be bedrooms carpeted, wet areas tiled, lounge/family room tiled (as the kitchen runs in to it as open plan, and the study is looking very likely to be floating floor. The HT room flooring is totally undecided at this stage, but will be either carpet or floating floor. Now that I see there's a way to seal and protect the grout, then to me tiling is the best option.
