Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 03, 2013 1:15 pm Hi all, Four weeks ago I bought 4 x fascade lights. Got an electrician to install them and as of 2 days ago it tripped the power of our house. We found that 3/4 of the fascade lights leaked water into them. Should master be compensating for our re-installation fees? Poor quality control on their products. Cheers Re: Should master compensate me? 2Jun 03, 2013 7:52 pm Sorry - what is a fascade light - who is "master" - and where did the electrician come from ? Re: Should master compensate me? 3Jun 04, 2013 7:47 am I think Namweng means the lights on the front exterior of the house - the facade. If rainwater was getting into the lights they were either badly installed or defective in the first place. Did you buy the lights and employ the electrician Namweng? Re: Should master compensate me? 6Jun 04, 2013 12:55 pm Most light fittings WILL leak if you run a tap over them! They are never subjected to that sort of water flooding/pressure when getting rained on. The electrician installed the lights and then they tripped the power. Then you found that they had water in them. This is before you ran a hose over them to test them. Did I get that right? Here goes.... 1. Bought the lights from Masters warehouse 2. Called electrician to install (Everything works OK) 3. 2 weeks later (2 - 3 days ago) it rained.... tripped the power 4. Got electrician to come back and diagnose and found that water was sitting inside the light fitings. Cheers Re: Should master compensate me? 12Jun 04, 2013 1:20 pm Ok. If they filled with water because of rain then yes, bring them back to Masters. This is assuming you pulled the cap off and ran water over it AFTER it had already tripped your power.
