Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 27, 2013 9:51 am Does this work or should I just cut it down and remove myself? We have a very large Cordyline out the front of our house. It sits pretty close to the house and at round 20 feet tall. My wife wants it gone but I thought it might be worth a fair bit if we could sell it. Is this a good idea at all? What about any legal ramifications in regards to damage to the house during removal etc. Thanks. Re: Selling an established tree 2May 27, 2013 10:11 am Well - depending on size - it could be worth something. Maybe an advert for someone to come and get it - ie dig it out - and set a reasonable price. If its too big - ie roots system etc - it might not be worth it ? If you hire someone to do it then they should have insurance. If you do it - you might be covered in your house policy ? A garden designer or landscaper might want it ? I'm after established palms - as I don,t want to plant seeds ... Re: Selling an established tree 3May 27, 2013 10:27 am Saint Mike Well - depending on size - it could be worth something. What would be a reasonable price for the tree? If your interested let me know. Rather it go to someone on here. Then let them make an offer. $100 is better than nothing. Re: Selling an established tree 5May 27, 2013 1:28 pm Saint Mike But - maybe $150ono ? If they do the work. Would have thought it would be worth at least 10x that amount for something so big. $100 in your local nursery doesn't buy you anything over 4 foot. Worth the ask. Re: Selling an established tree 6May 27, 2013 1:36 pm Stick it on Gumtree or eBay. You might be surprised. I'd also ask in the landscape section and not here. You'll probably get a few landscapers chiming in regarding the species and what it is worth. viewforum.php?f=19 Stewie Re: Selling an established tree 8May 27, 2013 3:00 pm I would put it on gum tree or ebay, but I highly doubt you will get $1500.00 for it.
