It was the original farmhouse for the area which is a common situation for a house to be named; such a house is often a landmark for the area, not just a house. In a modern suburb, it seems kind of cutesy to name a house (as an abstract idea) - it isn't a useful local landmark anymore. But there is nothing wrong with it if you like the idea, and it could work. I don't know if the post office would consider it an official part of your address though. HD Land settled May '14.
