For example - if my certificate passed 3 star taps and I later decide to use 4 or 5 star (ie improvements) or if my windows stipulate single glaze and I later decide to use double glaze (same size and fabric but improved u-value) can I change them without notifying council or having a new BASIX certificate reissued?. Or are you locked into using what your certificate states? You can increase the standard anywhere and use the same report/certificate, but you can't lower one area in compensation for increasing another without having the report redone. My first run through the BASIX certificate gave me a really high 'pass' rating on things like taps, windows, water use etc. By tweaking a lot of of the details I was still able to attain a high pass rate but also give me a lot more flexibility when the time comes to actually deciding on, and ordering materials. I feel it is still a bit too early to lock myself down to certain products and materials. I will not want to lower any of the standards but in all likelihood will want to raise some now I have passed the BASIX report with a lot lower standards. Cheers - minds at ease now! You can really use anything you want the main consideration would be how it looks once painted/finished - or the look you want. Cabinetmakers use MDF because its cheap… 2 10075 I would say both styles you have pictured are steel. The lower chord of the first pic would be a massive lump if made using timber considering the size of the rafters. If… 1 6234 1 13206 |
