Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 14, 2013 12:45 pm I have an existing rear veranda that has serious drainage issues when it rains. The boffins that poured the slab before we bought the place didn't bother to put any fall on it, so the rain comes in & gathers in several places. There is a drain but it does bugger all. I am thinking the best solution would be to cut the concrete and install some strip drains that hook up to the existing drains, allowing the water to flow as it should have in the first place. You can see in the pic the issues and where the water pools which will hopefully explain things a little clearer. Re: Drainage Issue - Help Needed 2May 19, 2013 11:44 pm your strip drain idea is great in my opinion but id also think about another strip drain along the edge of the grass perhaps with pavers either side with the fall of the pavers into the drain, it would help to protect your retaining wall from the weight of soggy water logged soil potentially pushing it over in years to come. As for the retaining wall, is there an agri drain behind it or at least several weep holes at the bottom to relieve water from behind it?
