Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Apr 29, 2013 2:51 pm Hi peoples, newbie here , I am just about to sign a build contract with Carlisle and would like to understand if the garage extension cost quoted by my builder is reasonable if anybody of you have done it already. garage extension (1.3 m) - 4600 450mm eaves to garage - 915 Also, they mentioned this in the document "Door to be positioned 470mm from boundary wall OR approximately centred suit brick coursing." To me it looks like they are not going to extend the garage door to up scale the increased garage size, and I wonder if thats the norm? Wouldn't the garage walls be bulkier? What is the average cost to extend garage , if anybody know the norms of industry? I was asking the approximate cost of extending the back wall of a floor plan by 1m, with the width being 4.2m (it's a bedroom next to alfresco), the sales person gave me a approx cost of $2500, which works out to be $600 per sqm. So in your case, garage is 6m wide, extension is 1.3m, cost per sqm is $590. Sounds about right I guess? Hi Has anyone recently completed an extension in Melbourne.
