Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Apr 04, 2013 8:42 am Hi, This is my first post Been a forum lurker for a while but decided to join. I was wondering if anyone who has built with McDonald Jones new what the internal paint colours were for their display house at Lochinvar and also what carpets they have used ? Tried to find out but they are very secret squirrel about it all. Looking at doing something similar for our build. Thanks in advance. But yeah they probably won't help u out if you're not building with them. I think they should have the colour choice specs available on request when people walk through! I can't see why it's so secretive? Agreed, its the first paint colour I have really liked but of course I cant find out what it is as they act like its some sort of top secret colour. Anyone who is building with MJH fancy asking for me as they will probably let you past the vault door I did see one or two houses somewhere on display that had little signs up all through the house of colours and products they had used, I thought this is great ! As if a customer is going to make a decision to spend 1/2 million dollars based on whether or not they get told what some of products they use are ! Re: McDonald Jones Lochinvar display home colours 7May 28, 2013 8:13 pm When we did our colours appt we told them we wanted the same as one of the displays at Waterford County and they just whipped out their folder with all the details. For colours and finishes that were upgrades they just took us around to find similar products in our price range. I never just asked for details at a display though, only at the colours appt. Re: McDonald Jones Lochinvar display home colours 9Jun 05, 2013 5:37 pm mandv their colour consultants have all the details on file as we picked a few colours from a particular display house when we built with MJH Yes this is the problem as when you call them up they wont tell you anything unless you are a customer of theirs already. Anyone care to ask the question for me Re: McDonald Jones Lochinvar display home colours 10Jun 11, 2013 10:30 pm My niece asked at Lochinvar about 1 yr ago and was told it was either 1/4 strength or 1/2 strength hogs bristle or kid leather. But it is just as likely to be kid leather!! They are so similar. As a side note - in the end they chose 'martini' which is pretty much the same. I was worried that it would be too dark but I love it, especially with the very white walls. Your house is looking great! How is the pool going, are you still going with Bermuda pools? Re: McDonald Jones Lochinvar display home colours 15Jun 15, 2013 9:33 am Allistair Also if anyone knows what carpets used would be great too. I can't remember the name of the carpet that we wanted through McDJ but it doesn't matter anyway as you won't be able to get it. I've been to every carpet place I could find and I was told the same thing - its exclusive to McDonald Jones. Carpet Court have similar ones but not exact, they actually supply McDJ carpets and they even told me that the range that they have is exclusive to them. We even had out tiler call up the manufacturor of the carpet and ask his contact there and he was told 'sorry' its an exclusive product. Hi AKG, We had a base tender of $592 for 31 squares from MC Donald Jones. It looks relatively cheaper than other builders.
