Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Apr 02, 2013 5:48 pm Hi All, I'm new to this forum, in case you haven't guessed, and I'm not sure if this will even work and show where it should but here goes! LOL We are building a new home on our acreage in country south-east Victoria... I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with colourbond flashing to make a bulk head in the portico on their house.. My problem is I love the Caoba Dawn colourbond colour for our garage door and ideally would love to be able to get the bulk head made in the same colour to eliminate the need for upkeep on the alternative; Merbau Timber, but cant seem to find anywhere on the net that may do this?? Or where or if Caoba Dawn flashing is even available? I have looked at the Deco-wood alternative and as a second choice would have the Jarah door with the matching decowood made bulkhead but I am not as happy with the colour.... We are using Boral "Eaglemont" bricks an I feel the caoba dawn would match best.... If anyone has any advice or can help push me in the right direction I would GREATLY appreciate it Re: Caoba Dawn Colourbond Flashing 2Apr 03, 2013 9:38 am That flashing for your bulkhead would have to be custom made. Installing it you would see screws and rivets to hold it in place - not very pretty. Why don't you frame the bulkhead, use blueboard to sheet it and then paint it exactly the same colour as the Colorbond Caoba Dawn ? A decent paint shop should be able to match it exactly. Stewie Re: Caoba Dawn Colourbond Flashing 3Apr 03, 2013 10:29 am Thanks Stewie. Im not sure that painted board is the look Im after. I want the timber slats look.... I will have to mention this suggestion to my husband though (who works in onsite construction with metal) and see what his thoughts were on fixing it off. I dont want to see rivets either. This house is costing is a fortune and isnt a standard build, last thing I need is ugly rivets! Its hard when you have an idea in your mind of how you want it to work, but in reality its not working! LOL Thanks Re: Caoba Dawn Colourbond Flashing 5Apr 18, 2013 3:50 pm hi, i am having the same dilemna! we are using eaglemont and i like the jarrah decowood but i feel it may be too red. is your house bricked yet? have you got samples of the caoba to show against it. i want my gates in the same matching colour and louvres for privacy on deck and want low maintenance aluminium look alike timber. Coming back to this.... When installing a pressure flashing, what fixings would you use (please give a link) ? Above Pedro said nylon anchors.
