Can you attach it direct to the weatherboards? Do you need packing? Or is it best to put in some upright posts against the house? Any pictures, tips would be appreciated. I've installed a fold down to weatherboards before, basically you need to attach it to the stud work if you can. When I installed ours the holes were about 60mm out to the studs so I fixed two treated pine 140 x 19 plates to the stud work and then attached the clothesline to the plates with coach bolts, hope that makes sense.. No problems at all, you can do it a few different ways as long as you mount to the studs, either directly through the brackets on the clothesline or use a timber support mounted to the studs. How wide are the mounting holes at each end of the clothesline?
