Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Apr 20, 2008 5:14 pm Hi guys
I have just picked up some Laminex samples and it seems they have a number of different finishes to choose from for some of the colours. We have chosen Polar White for our kitchen cupboards and we can choose either the flint finish or dimensions finish... The flint finish looks smoother but I have no idea what would be better suited for kitchen cupboards, does anyone with better knowledge of lamiex products want to help me out Thanks heaps Re: Laminex - different finishes 2Apr 20, 2008 5:19 pm Hi Bel,
The flint finish is a smooth finish that is more suited to doors (IMO). Before we redid the kitchen the bench top was lamenix with the dimension finish (rough). I think you will find the flint finish will be the way to go, although I would be interested to hear what others are having. Re: Laminex - different finishes 7Apr 20, 2008 6:57 pm We used polar white for our exsisting bathroom when we did our reno about 8 years ago. We had the flint finish on the cupboards and went with the builders recommendation of the dimensions finish for the bench top. IIR His idea was that for a bench top it was more forgiving for scratches.
For our new cupboards in the bathrooms and kitchen we will most likely be going with the 'natural' (smooth) finish on the stipple cocoa, rather than the dimensions! Having a look at our exsisting kitchen, the laminex bench is the rough finish, and the cupboards are all smooth! Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!!
