Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Mar 12, 2013 5:46 pm Hi all, I am hoping for some feedback, I am relatively new on this forum and quite possibly this question has been asked, but I haven't really found the answer. My builder has just submitted our house plans to council (Wollongong NSW) what I have been told is that I can submit our pool builder plans on the same DA? Does this sound correct? Or am I up for further costs? Both our home builder and pool builder said it was possible but I'm not sure how to go about doing it (or if it is even possible). fyi - we had to go through Council rather than a private certifier as Council has very kindly not taken off a heritage listing on our block Any help greatly appreciated! Excuse my ignorance Vess, but what is a CDC application? We had to get a certificate 149(2) for our block from council to determine if we could lodge the pool by CDC, which the certificate confirmed we could. It only took approx 4 weeks for the CDC approval to come through. The house took 12 weeks for approval. The pool people looked after it all for us. We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! Our blog - http://ourwisdommajestic40.blogspot.com.au/ Our H1 thread - viewtopic.php?t=54156 Re: Can pool plans be submitted on the same DA as the house? 7Mar 15, 2013 8:31 pm Unfortunately, because of the Heritage listing on our block that the council in its wisdom should have removed months and months ago...doesn't enable us to get a CDC (unable to get a 149(2)). We are waiting for our DA to be given to an assessor and we will speak to that person (hopefully Monday!) and be able to add the pool to the DA (have no idea if that is even possible, keep getting told it is, but could be completely naive here ) Thanks! What possessed me to think that my home builder and pool builder could possibly align themselves and submit a DA together Both the home builder AND the pool builder people said, and I quote 'submit the pool plans in with the house plans when the house plans go to council' fair enough, sounds feasible, except that doesn't happen. So now we have a DA in with council for the house and will have to go back to the pool builder to get them to submit our plans into council, which of course is going to cost extra, which was the whole freaking point of submitting them together!!! aarrgghhhhh!! Here endeth the lesson. Wiz Built @ Brooks Reach Built the Verdelho Guest with Beechwood 2 31344 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13771 Really tight at the top of the stairs- how to get furniture into those rooms? Study books - does anyone really use them these days? Large storage closet would be more functional. 2 6884 |
