PMd yesterday - hope you got it! Cheers! RJ Re: Sydney Home Show 2008 - Free Double Passes 43May 01, 2008 2:36 pm Thanks for your PM's.
Final batch will be sent to the Post Office today for delivery - let's hope they arrive by Friday! ![]() For those of you wishing to attend that have missed this FREE double pass offer, please visit the following page, and download the 2 for 1 offer: http://homeideasshow.sydney.homeone.com.au/ Again, enjoy the show. ![]() Re: Sydney Home Show 2008 - Free Double Passes 44May 01, 2008 9:23 pm Jason,
I know it is too late but can you please let me know if you have posted my tickets. I contacted you on the 18th or 19th of April but I have not received them. I would like to know if we are having problems with our mail (feral neighbour from hell ![]() Regards Sandra Sydney NSW Re: Sydney Home Show 2008 - Free Double Passes 45May 01, 2008 9:33 pm Hi Sandra,
I recall seeing your letter go off in the first batch over a week ago. If it hasn't arrived as yet, then with such short notice, it would prove difficult getting two more tickets out to you in time.... Although not a full savings of $36.00 you could always download and print our 2 for 1 PDF offer in the interim. Please visit the following URL: http://homeideasshow.sydney.homeone.com.au/ Re: Sydney Home Show 2008 - Free Double Passes 46May 01, 2008 11:03 pm Jason,
No worries. I will use the two for one offer. Thank you for sending them out. I should have used my parents'address which we use for any thing other than bills. Unfortunately we have a battle axe block and our mailbox is 2 houses away - perfect for the neighbours next to it to interfere with (as they have done in the past). Sandra Re: Sydney Home Show 2008 - Free Double Passes 49May 02, 2008 7:19 pm I'd like to thank all of you for your PM request for tickets to the Sydney Home Show, and do hope you enjoy the show.
We were receiving PM's right up until mid-week. As a result, I'm aware that a few of you may not receive your tickets in time, so alternatively, please download and print the 2 for 1 special at: http://homeideasshow.sydney.homeone.com.au/ Cheers, Jason Re: Sydney Home Show 2008 - Free Double Passes 50May 04, 2008 1:22 pm Jason - thanks for the tickets - we had a great time!
Was interesting that some big names were missing though - Colorbond, Rinnai - and the Show was halls 3-5 (whereas the last few years it's been halls 2-5) - the slow down must be starting to bite. After 4 years - we're in! Re: Sydney Home Show 2008 - Free Double Passes 51May 04, 2008 6:13 pm Yes, I went and there definetly were less displays. Boral, CSR and Eureka tiles were missing. Last year there were about 5 window displayers and this year there was only two. There were some great doors from Sydney and Melbourne, this year just one. Gainsborough were missing, etc.
When I was having lunch, one of the displayers sat at the same table as me. We got chating and I commented that the show appeared to be a lot smaller than last year. I speculated that it may be due to the internet and more people selecting things on the web. He stated that it was because there were so many shows these days. Didn't quite see the logic in that since I'm not aware of any other home shows this year (even Design Build is having it's turn in Melbourne this year). So, there were definely less displays, but why remains a mystery. And a disappointment for someone who was hoping to finalise their fittings and finishes list at the show ![]() Cheers, Casa Demolition August 2009, Construction Started September 2009, Completed December 2010 Re: Sydney Home Show 2008 - Free Double Passes 52May 05, 2008 9:15 am Casa - I have a feeling a lot of companies went to DesignEx the week before - which was trade only ![]() After 4 years - we're in! Re: Sydney Home Show 2008 - Free Double Passes 53May 05, 2008 11:15 am Thanks a lot to the ForumOne for the tickets. I wouldn't have gone if I had to buy the tickets by myself!
It was good... but I think the people who renovate may benefit a lot more than the people who build with building companies. I loved that automatic lawnmower.. but somehow didn't feel confident to buy it! We didn't end up buying anything but at least my wife bought a foundation (or something sounds similar) ! ![]() Thanks again to the ForumOne for the tickets. - devank Re: Sydney Home Show 2008 - Free Double Passes 54May 05, 2008 12:51 pm Thanks again for the tickets. We were in two minds whether to go or not but since we were already in Sydney for the Foo Fighters concert we decided to go. Had a good time looking at everything. Seriously looking now into cBus systems - and got some seriously hot Vindaloo curry from one of the sites. ![]() ![]() Re: Sydney Home Show 2008 - Free Double Passes 55May 05, 2008 1:50 pm ![]() Thanks again for the tickets. Clipsal don't advertise it, but it's the cheapest and simplest method of getting home automation and paying for extra features as you need them. Demolition August 2009, Construction Started September 2009, Completed December 2010 Re: Sydney Home Show 2008 - Free Double Passes 56May 05, 2008 7:21 pm hmmmm we were at the Liquid Kitchen stand by midday drinking a lychee margarita ..... thankfully lunch soon followed ![]() ![]() ![]() I thought it was good - I wish there had been more kitchen appliance companies and lighting companies - I was hoping for some really amazing lighting options - modern chandeliers etc but could see very little The automatic mower did it for my hubby as well - he was very impressed, also with the racing seat for the video games .... The home theatre section was a bit dull, only a couple of options and that huge Bose stand .... I did love those heavy timber doors with the metalwork ... some of those were amazing - also the options for door handles (external) were quite impressive (we took some photos of them) We ended the day back at the Liquid Kitchen picking up a Cocktail making kit (signed by the author of course) ... at least we know what kind of house warming party we are going to have All in all a good day out and I collected lots of information which is good to mull over Fiona Re: Sydney Home Show 2008 - Free Double Passes 57May 05, 2008 9:34 pm I'd like to add my thanks for the tickets also. After my rude comments about my neighbours ![]() Hopefully some of the displays have given us enough inspiration to get to work on our renovations. We are seriously thinking of replacing our side gates with the aluminium wood lookalikes by Ali Wood or DecoWood. I couldn't believe how realistic they looked. Another eye opener was the modern open fires with glass surrounds. I cannot imagine having the open flame coming out of the top of my coffee table, however. How could you feel safe walking by, let alone have children or pets. I think this was by Ecosmart. I fell in love with the Schmidt Kitchen display as the quality was so good. However, when I googled this company at home it was described as the 'Rolls Royce of European kitchen design'. I imagine that the prices will match. ![]() Finally, the designer rooms were unappealing to my untutored eyes. Did anyone else feel that they were nothing special? Though I must admit that the room by Greg Natale made me feel that my taste must be fantastic as I am obviously at the forefront of modern design. He had 3 blue ceramic horses as a focal point and guess who has one exactly the same which I bought 30 years ago!! Edited to add that anyone who is thinking of purchasing the mower which moves around on its own should make sure that it is suitable for their property. I spent a week staying opposite a house where we could see one of these at work every day and there were definite areas where it would not go such as the top of a slope and near certain bushes. But it was still fun to watch.
