The holes were all plumb to each other from the top to the bottom (of course not the bottom stud directly on the floor). The column we chose was directly behind were we planned to mount our TV on the wall. Then, we threaded a cord from the top then through each hole all the way down and left a few loops at the bottom. The cord at the top was stapled to a rafter with a enough left over to play with. Important step not to be missed... take photos. Then, once we moved in and we new exactly where our TV was to be, I cut a hole 30cm from the floor in the plaster and located the dangling cord left earlier. After attaching the wall mount for the TV, I made another hole just behind. I then taped the back wall speaker cables, another cord to follow, HDMI, optical, ethernet, power cord, etc cable to the dangling cord with electrical tape. I then pulled up the cord to where TV mount was, took off everything except for the additional cord, ethernet and back wall speaker cables. I then got in the roof and pulled the rest up. Attached the dangling cord to a rafter. I have mentioned that I pulled up an ethernet cable for describing purposes of which I already had an ethernet cable installed earlier. All in all, no need for conduit or to know where your tv and etc will exactly be. I used an ethernet wall plate for all connections but the rest I used a bullnose wall plate and threaded the cables straight through. The hardest part was drilling the wholes though the studs and running the cable. It is pretty easy to plaster up the wholes. however if you get really stuck you can always get a plastera in to fix the wholes you made. Below are some photos Re: cinema Wall mount tv conduit runs .show your picks 5Feb 22, 2013 7:10 am I did ours similar to Adam.M except I put the cables in after handover. I drilled a 50mm hole in the nogin before the gyprock went up. When we moved in I drilled a 70mm hole behind the wallmounted TV and behind the TV cabinet on the ground. I then fead all the cables down and out the bottom. Its actually very very easy. One thing to consider is are you going to have a 5.1/7.1 surround sound system?? If so how will you get the speaker wire to the back speakers?? I ran the speaker cables before Gyprock! Decided before you go putting in wires if you want 5.1 or 7.1. You dont want to be re-running cables months down the track because you didn't put enough speaker points in the house the first time. Apart from that even if the walls are up and in place, it is only a minor thing having to put a small whole in the walls to put the wire though the studs... the conduit would need to be undamaged regardless of what network is in play. The conduit needs to be able to have fibre run through it. NBN and Opticomm are just… 4 2881 If what you describe is correct then the brick wall has been dry lined with villa board.
