I realise that is only anecdotal, but I suspect if you take country people as a whole, who drink rainwater and live healthily, their longetivity rates would be good.
A bit off topic but I believe the childhood obesity epidemic is more a city issue too, these things are lifestyle related.

Having looked at community characteristics across the state there are pros and cons to living in the city and country. The AEDI is a prime example. Risk factors across the spectrum are more associated with neighbourhoods rather than city versus country.
But in terms of drinking rainwater ... you need to do what feels right. We are as you put it Helyn sanitizing things to the point where our immunity is compromised. But at the same time science and antibiotics have helped us live longer.
Its all about balance .
