Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jan 17, 2013 1:37 pm Hello all those that can help. Our Rheem solar hot water unit makes a very annoying pulsating buzzing noise originating from the control unit attached to the water tank. It varies in sound depending on the time of the day and usage. I am guessing that when the unit has been heating up all day and no hot water has been used for a while, the noise tends to be quite load. Right now for example the temp is 39c but I think the wife has been using the hot water (maybe, didn't ask) and therefore there is no buzzing. The Rheem plumber came by and said that the noise was normal and that the only solution was to put a timer on the GPO to turn the solar part off during different times of the day. I thought this might be logical but a major cope out from a Rheem product. I have read the reviews on productreview and it scores a low 1.5 star for the unit. Any thoughts from anyone or has anyone experienced what I mentioned? Our advise would be to get back in touch with Rheem as it sounds like a faulty product.
