Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Dec 10, 2012 9:02 am I have some scotia that isn't really matching the flooring so they stand out. I have a painter coming in today to paint all skirts. There are a couple other areas that are similar, short pieces of scotia that was put in because architraves were installed before floor laying. Do you think it would help if the scotia and the filler were also painted in the same colour as the skirting/architraves? It would still stick out etc but maybe it would look better? Also, would I create any future issues by doing this? This is urgent as I need to make up my mind in a few hours..if anyone has any ideas, I look forward to hearing them. Although, while I don't mind the colour of the actual scotia, I think it's that "filler" stuff that's between that and the skirting that sticks out in a bad way, so maybe even if those bits could be painted and the rest stay the way they are? Your diagram was really helpful and now that I think back, maybe better than painting it all white but I ran out of time and got it painted white. For some reason it still stands out hehehe...it bugs me because the paint colour looks different, maybe the painter got the colour wrong... Will post photos again once I am back online. Unless I have gotten it all wrong, I thought architrave colour and skirting colour should be exactly the same??? hmm... Re: Mismatching scotia - should I paint them (urgent, w/ pho 8Dec 19, 2012 2:24 pm My skirting was painted in a bright white and architraves are a little bit warmer white, and the scotia is the bright white colour as well because it was painted together with the skirts I haven’t.
