Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 25, 2012 3:38 pm Hi, We purchased our home a few years back and are gradually renovating. We have come to the moment of exterior colour choice. As you can see from the picture the house is green, very green! As we are on a ridge surrounded by greenery, we are looking for some contrast with a overall contemporary feel. So, we are about to commission a roof refurb and have been advised to go with Woodland Grey, as this would sit well/contrast in our bush setting. If we go with a Woodland Grey roof what would be a good weatherboard colour choice?. I want something light, modern but something that works well with both woodland grey and our setting. The only other consideration is the woodwork, which would probably come up well in a tone of white. Any advice gratefully received http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a622/Nathan_Spicer/IMG_0633.jpg http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a622/Nathan_Spicer/IMG_0631.jpg http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a622/Nathan_Spicer/IMG_0123.jpg Re: Colour Advice 2Nov 25, 2012 4:00 pm Dune is always one of the 'safe' colours. Our house has woodland grey roof & Bushland render but may be a bit dark for you. Any idea of type colour you want other than light (EG grey, cream, whites etc) Re: Colour Advice 3Nov 25, 2012 4:10 pm Not a fan of cream so was thinking more of a grey tone. I tried a colour earlier as a sample called Dulux Duck White. However, although looking nice in the pot it's come out looking more cream. Dune was one of the options, from reading these forums, it seems a popular choice. Re: Colour Advice 4Nov 25, 2012 4:19 pm I have dulux white duck 1/4 as paint in my house. I agree it looks quite cream, gosh i have so many grey paint samples here from when choosing colours for the new house. Im using Solver Dawn grey for render. Dulux Bleaches 1/2 for main colour inside and Dulux silkwort for the bedroom walls. They are all greys that you may like?? Dulux Dieskau & flooded gum were also on my list at some point Re: Colour Advice 6Nov 25, 2012 9:08 pm Maybe CLB Dune with First Snow- there's a pic in the link below on page 3. I think it would look great with woodland grey. http://www.solverpaints.com.au/diy/Colo ... 0Final.pdf Versaloc is a mortarless besser block system that still needs a properly engineered footing.
