Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 14, 2012 11:23 pm Hi, I was wondering if someone that's a plasterer can help me out with plastering pricing. I have just received a quote to supply and install plaster to 3 townhouses I am building in Melbourne. The total price including GST is $46,000. Details are below. I have been told there is 2500 sq metres of plaster to be done. Living areas are about 18-19 squares each, plus double garage, 2700mm ceilings, 2 storey, Square set finish to all areas except garages, CSR plaster board used, Metal battens and Laser finish, WR plasterboard to wet areas. Villaboard can be used as an alternative to WR for an extra $2K. Does this sound reasonable? Re: Cost of Plastering 2Nov 16, 2012 7:32 am Sounds like alot to me.. Plaster costs $3 something a square metre.. Let be generous and say $4 a m2. You do the maths and work out how much the board alone costs. Obviously there are other material exxpenses like exi's and bog but all in all a little to high imo. Re: Cost of Plastering 3Nov 16, 2012 8:45 pm Robbie1950 Sounds like alot to me.. Outside render around $15 a square meter. Not sure where you came up with $3 & $4 2 Cost of Plastering 4Nov 16, 2012 9:08 pm bkm2009 Robbie1950 Sounds like alot to me.. I have been told that Square Set and Laser which I am having also add to this normal cost. Is this correct? I know I can probably find an Asian crew who I have been told do it very cheap but not sure I want to go this way. Not sure where you came up with $3 & $4 2 I think youve misunderstood me. What I meant to say was that the material alone (plaster per m2) (not labour costs) around $4 a square metre If this is a custom build then I would expect the builder to set out the door frame closer to the wall to avoid the gap between architrave and the wall and or specify… 9 8306 7 11993 We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37142 |
