We designed our floor plan from scratch but a lot of the inspiration for that came from American house plan websites and a lot of Perth builders websites (I like the Perth floor plans). Also experience from living in other houses - we know what we like and don't like. So I guess a bit from everywhere. Some interesting designs and less 'box' shaped houses that we have here. I agree. They also seem to concentrate more on the facade finish all round, not just all to the front as seems to happen here. Also there's a lot more styles which have evolved over there (probably due to the input from so many nationalities going to US originally...)
