Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 29, 2012 8:28 am I have a colorbond shed with metal frame (brand new) and am planning to put in a basic shower/toilet/laundry facility for occasional use. I had the plumbing and floor waste put under the slab before it was poured and I bought a 'flat pack' type shower unit (base, plastic wall frame and glass wall/door kit). I need to line the corner where the shower will go so that I have something to fix the plastic wall to. Is it possible to line the bathroom by fixing fibre-cement sheeting (or some other alternative) direct to the metal frame of the shed? Or do you HAVE to fix timber stud walls to the metal frame first then line them? I'm trying to do this the easiest way possible as it is not going to be used regularly. I've read fibre-cement manufacturer's website and they say you can fix 6mm fibre cement sheets direct to metal frame but other people tell me I should insert timber stud walls first and line them. Can anyone help out with some advice? Re: Wall lining for wet area in colorbond shed 2Nov 05, 2012 1:36 pm You will need framing to attach fibrecement to - whether it is timber stud fram or tophat steel sections doesnt matter but you will need appropriate support. The fibrecement manufacturers should indicate at what centres to place support members whether 300mm/ 450mm/ 600mm and that will depend on material thickness. Also tape the joints with appropriate sealing tape at salb and between sheets. Hi, I am sheeting the inside of a 5.7 x 8m shed with gyprock.
