Yours looks like it dosen't have many veins so it might be ok but a stonemason would not touch it. Any stonemason would know the risk involved in trying to remove the top and then transporting it so your pretty much stuck. Whatever you do DON'T get the demolisher to do it as he will break if he dosen't know what he is doing and these guys aren't in the trade of being careful thats why the are demolishers. Thanks Buttercup A kind gentleman from a kitchen company was in our suburb yesterday so he called in to have a look. He said that because the vanity is made up of 3 cabinets the demolishers idea of moving the unit in one piece will not work, the granite top has to come off. He said the chance of success is still probably less than 50% but he thinks it is worth trying as it would be very expensive to have a similar vanity built. So we'll cross fingers and hope for the best, if we don't try it will be demolished with the rest of the house. I can't remember exactly how old the vanity is but at least 20 years. I do remember that after it was installed we saw the same granite used on the facade of building in Sydney so hopefully it is the super strong variety. 0 9808 Transform your bathroom into a sanctuary of calm and sophistication with Hera Bathware's Bathroom Vanity Collection.
