I am a student from RMIT University (Melbourne) and I'm currently writing a thesis about owner-builders' motivations and outcomes and I would love everyone in this forum to help me answer a few questions to support my thesis. Before answering the questions below please state your: (A) Country and (B) State. 1. Why do you start owner-building? (What is your motives?) 2. What would you do differently in your project if you ask registered professionals to do the whole construction works. 3. Pros and cons of being owner-builders. 4. What are the trends that you observe for owner-builders. Any change in legislation (or no changes) that have impacts on you? 5. Is the work mainly be on schedule and budget as predicted? 6. What are the external sources that you use to gain information? 7. What is your source of motivation? 8. Are you confident of carrying out owner-building works? (Please give a rating out of 10 in terms on level of confidence) 8. Are you satisfied with your final outcome? 9. Why are you satisfied with your final outcome? Thanks for taking the time up to answer my questions. It is highly appreciate that you could help me out. Hope you all are progressing well with your current owner-builder project! Cheers!
