Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 04, 2012 9:35 am I have just finished another section of my backyard makeover - a raised bed with 500x500 pavers and white pebbles. It is going to be an area for sunshade, deck chairs etc. I think it looks great, however one oversight was the fact that our 3 yo 'Bob the Builder' loves digging, and these pebbles are perfect for it! So my question is - are there any products available that I could use to 'bed down' these pebbles so they are more of a solid base instead of loose pebbles (without losing the look). I had one suggestion of lime cement, and also using some sort of lacquer - any suggestions would be very much appreciated. I used this but your pebbles need to be no bigger than10mm. Worked well but is very expensive, 20kg drum was around $400. Re: White pebbles - any way to make them 'stick' 3Oct 05, 2012 9:37 am I think a bed of white mortar would be the easiest/cheapest. Those design on home reno shows look pretty but are mostly impractical with pebbles getting everywhere unless fixed in place or using something like dichondra An observation if I may -- From the shiny heads of your sleeper bolts it appears they are only nickel plated instead of galvanised? Arfur Re: White pebbles - any way to make them 'stick' 4Oct 06, 2012 5:15 pm I had gardens with white pebbles at my last house, the birds were the worst with them. scattered them everywhere. None at my reno. Good luck Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors. But I'm not sure… 3 6113 if i have understood your dimensions correctly my suggestions include using the smallest toilet and wall hung handbasin eg Caroma Urbane with in wall cistern, small wall… 1 8156 Not sure who you're building with, but I moved in recently to a 11month scheduled, 8 month actual build on the South coast/Illawarra NSW 3 5908 |
