Quote: Love the bright interior and all the fittings, looks so clean and fresh! Love the bulkheads, love the alfresco, love the built in cupboards!! I guess your current TV won't fit in the space...damn, hey, you'll just have to buy another Stormy, the TV comes with the house ![]() ![]() Quote: Just one thing: Are they poplar trees in a line down the side ? If they are poplars then it might be wise to get rid of them now. They're beautiful trees, but deadly to drains, they grow to enormous height, will flood your roof with leaves and, if chopped down when big, will sprout hundreds of little poplars all over your yard. OMG, I will find out for sure, if they are DH will be upset as he loves that the garden is finished. Paula Re: What do you do.... 42Apr 04, 2008 8:00 pm I missed this thread earlier too. All I can say is WOW - what an absolutely GORGEOUS house - I thought I was looking at some glossy magazine shots there.
You must be so excited Paula.......that kitchen.....it makes me wish I'd chosen that colour scheme. And the TV comes with the house ![]() Built a Clarendon 'Balmain' 2008 Re: What do you do.... 47Apr 04, 2008 9:23 pm ![]() Quote: do you know who the builder was? If I had to guess I'd say Comdain. Spot on ![]() they do some nice stuff! I especially like their alfresco areas I see you're up north like me. I've seen Comdain do some stuff out Doreen way now, as well as further in. We wanted to give Comdain a crack at our place but they weren't on the panel of builders at Springthorpe Re: What do you do.... 48Apr 04, 2008 9:28 pm Quote: I see you're up north like me. We wanted to give Comdain a crack at our place but they weren't on the panel of builders at Springthorpe Yes Comdain have two displays in Doreen, but they are not a patch on the Balwyn home, even the salesman said they were catering to a different market out there (display homes not as expensive). I have done some research on them whilst looking at this house and I'm very impressed. Yes I'd heard you had to choose from a slection of builders at Springthorpe..was that difficult? We are in Diamond Creek. Not all that surprising given the price points. The Balwyn display was what attracted us to them to begin with. ![]() Yes I'd heard you had to choose from a slection of builders at Springthorpe..was that difficult? very difficult. Happy with who we ended up with though (Fasham Johnson)[/quote] Re: What do you do.... 51Apr 04, 2008 9:47 pm ![]() Quote: Happy with who we ended up with though (Fasham Johnson) friends from school are looking at building with them out at Kinglake. if they have any questions about them I'd be happy to share our experiences with them... Re: What do you do.... 53Apr 05, 2008 5:26 am Wow - you've fast tracked yourself into a beautiful house - bypassed all the stress, wait and worry. Saved on all the extra costs associated with not having a fixed date to move in (rent etc). Negated the need to wait an additional year or so to have an established garden. Spared yourself from imagining how your house will actually look in the end. Good one. You can now devote all the time you would have spent on the above to helping others on this forum ![]() Congrats Paula, nice house and nice job - I'd have done the same. A pity to knock down the garden feature - it looks nice, but a necessary evil if you want the pool for the kids. Re: What do you do.... 54Apr 05, 2008 8:30 am Thanks Rapacious,

We need to have another look and may even put the pool down the side of the fence with the feature leading on to it. Just need to get in and get a feel for the place. ![]() Paula Re: What do you do.... 55Apr 05, 2008 9:52 pm OMG the house is gorgeous - I love it as I find it very similar to my new house we have just built!!! the difference is yours is finished & complete & i have many months of work ahead of me!!! you've definately done the right thing!! buliding is very stressful with lots of unexpected delays - If i was in the same boat I would have done just as you have - just think you can move in and relax... Thanks, I must admit I feel as if I have * in a way ![]() ![]() I still have a big job ahead organising the rumpus room, but I will get in and enjoy of a while.. ![]() Paula Re: What do you do.... 57Apr 06, 2008 11:11 am Is it a big size block? I think you might have a point with running the pool along the side, as by the photo there looks like there is enought room & then you get to keep some of the garden - obviously it depends on how big a pool you want!! where will you add the rumpus room??
Don't doubt yourself - you have definately done the right thing!! our house was ready last week now our bank is digging in their heels & not releasing the money to the builder until they have an inspection of our house... (they have told my builder they have 10 days to do so.....) another weekend gone and hubby has already wasted one week of holidays which he couldn't change, looks like half of next week is out too... I better start going to the gym and working out so i can move all the furniture by myself (haha...) I have been put off building - but now i have seen your kitchen with the butlers pantry !!!- maybe in a couple of years!!!! The block is 1000sqm, hoping to build the rumpus behind the pool and make it like a pool house (with a guest bedroom and ensuite)- the block is more than long enough, there is still room for DH's Shed behind that. I know it means that I can specify which room to have the music on in, but am unsure if it means different music can be played in different rooms.
