Browse Forums General Discussion Re: RETAINING WALLS 21Sep 25, 2012 12:16 am Thats true!! And no he dont really wanna be calm, he said i tricked him ??? He does not want to draw anything, no paperwork. What i learn now is that i would use someone a bit more expensive who will do proper jobs. I am so appalled by his after service, now i have a 10cm gap from my paving to retaining wall. And now will have to pay to extend the paving.! And ive found out that the retaining wall block is sold by bgc in midland for $12ea! When i paid like 2,700 for 12 blocks! what a rip off Re: RETAINING WALLS 23Sep 25, 2012 9:49 am Not sure about wa, but in Victoria I'm not permitted to enter your property to retrieve items I have supplied and installed just because you haven't paid! It is actually illegal! The only way is to goto court and prove I supplied those exact items (almost impossible) and you didn't pay and get a court order, all that for $1000? I think not! Tell the guy to complete the works as asked and remove his rubbish from site, then you will pay him, I'd say let him call the police, he has no paperwork so it's all you said he said! Your only other option is to involve a lawyer, but it could be cheaper to pay him and pay someone else to fix the work than involve the lawyers! Especially since there is no plans or anything on paper! Makes it hard! 2 Re: RETAINING WALLS 24Oct 21, 2012 8:08 pm humble Lesson for everyone.. DO NOT USE A TRADIE WHO CANNOT PROVIDE PAPERWORK. So many of them. Neighbour had a driveway done by a 'rogue' concretor. Ended up having to have her garage door replaced, and front bricks re-cleaned, as they put wet concrete all over them. Hey humble, I learnt this the hard way too. My concreter did a terrible job and left concrete on my bricks/ fence everywhere! They used the wrong kind and it set before they could screed it. They painted it but didn't prepare the site so now it is all flaky! Grr.. now I will have to pay money to fix it. Re: RETAINING WALLS 25Oct 25, 2012 8:43 pm The police can't do anything the only thing he can do is sell his debt to a debt collecter or take you to court himself. And unless you have an email or written in writing exactly what you wanted him to do and him agreeing with it. There's not much you can do. But it's illegal for him to vandalise your property. Render your bathroom walls, two opinions versus the one, makes you wonder. 3 6035 The spacing of the studs looks pretty large especially for a load bearing wall. 3 11104 Nope, only on the inside, I've literally has my ears to the brick outside and can't hear anything. I can sort of 'reset' the noise by pressing firmly on the studs. This… 10 11718 |
