This thread is quiet for awhile so thought i share something.

It is sad that MW is only provide copper adsl not fibre optic as every other estate around us. anyways i realised that i need to dug a trench to run conduit from pit to the house where Telstra charge you $299 to give connection to the phone line. I have contacted PD that they provide this for $250. so I have added it to my contract. so when do the settlement i have to contact telstra to do the connection.

Well that's true - but after looking at Cascades On Clyde (nice estate too) - and noticing that Telstra have a monopoly on the fibre to the house system, you have to join them and THEM ONLY at bloody ridiculous prices per gig - nowhere near the value of TPG (who I'm with) per month, and it's very much a one horse race. That put us off going to the 'Smart' Communities.

In saying that I'm hoping I can access TPG once we move in - internet is the backbone of my business !

Yea I guess so, some places got Telstra velocity so that means they locked out to telstra and its insane prices

Yeah sure, that would be great - if you can send it to the inbox on here, or PM me and i'll give you my email addy. We probably won't get down there until at least Saturday morning.......is it standard to not be informed about the scrape, etc ? We haven't even got our fencing ready just yet, and they did say 2 week delay from payment to site start - is the scrape considered that ? I'm sure there'll be more communication soon if they want to do the slab, as we still need to go to the bank and give them the OK.

Our builder didn't tell us when the site was scraped, we heard about it from Nesspop (our neighbour). Our temp fencing went up after the slab was poured but it was organised by the builder aswell.

Our builder didn't tell us when the site was scraped, we heard about it from Nesspop (our neighbour). Our temp fencing went up after the slab was poured but it was organised by the builder aswell.

That's OK about not being told (shame we weren't there for it to happen, but you gotta work !)......the temporary fencers are waiting on us - maybe we should just go ahead and get them underway, there's a bit of a wait, and weren't expecting the scrape so soon !

I went down to MW last night to have a look at how our house was progressing as i hadnt been for over a week, and can i just say how amazed i was at how many houses were already at frame stage

!! Its only been abit over a month since land settlement and everything has progressed so much, its great to see!!

At the moment, we are nearly up to plaster stage. The brickwork should have been finished this week and plaster starts on Monday!! Very quick

We really wanted to upgrade to the point cook facade but at the end of the day we couldnt afford to. So we went with the standard. Not that great looking, but it will have to do. We prefer to use the money towards upgrades in the house instead.

I went to have a look at my house the other day and noticed that there is temp fencing around the area where the primary school will be, and there were site sheds!! I think they are starting soon, which is good!! :z:

Hi all

Heading to the meeting in half hour, hope to see some of you..

I also called the education department today & apparently we will be able to enroll our children in school (Lyndhurst Primary) 6 months before the school opens, & not before.

They need to wait till a principle is appointed as He/she will do all the enrollments themselves.. if you want you can call the education department 6 months before the school opens & they will supply a name & number

The school is opening for the school year 2011 (at this stage)

better scoot, so we can get a good seat for the meeting

Hi all, how many of us were at tonights meeting? Talk about fireworks?! But everything that was said in Q & A was what we've been talking about for months. What are everyones thoughts? The lady from Villawood didn't exactly instill any confidence whatsoever, especially if she's been working on the project since its inception.

Anyway, it was good to see so many passionate residents, I expect tonight might be some sort of kick in the bum for them.
