Hey everyone,
I also have a question, it's regarding fencing. Do we have to pay for all 3 sides of the fencing? Or will MW pay for the back fence and we only have to fork out money for the two side fences?

What do you back onto? if it's a boundary then I believe MW do it but if it's a reserve, park or another block then unfortunately you pay for it and in the case of the 1st two options, you pay the full cost :shock:

depends on size of block and boundary etc- you go havie with each person on each side. depens on which company you use to

I'm not sure what it costs as we haven't done ours yet. But Nesspop will know as they did their fences at the end of last year.

Would anyone know the average pricing per square metre? I'm just trying to work out our budget and see what amount of money to allocate to post-handover things. Altho we havent even settled on our land yet, it would be another year before I would need to think about fencing. :lol:

depends once again on who you quote with!! maybe ask people who have built with block sizes similar to yours in MW?

But would it matter what size my block is when it comes to prices which are worked out by the square metre? I just want a rough price per square metre on standard timber fencing for our boundary lines.

Hi,

Recently, I got a quotation from Hallam Fencing for $50+ GST per linear meter. They also mentioned that , they'll contact the surrounding property owners for their share of the fence behalf of us.

Went down for the fortnightly check of the estate, drove past Nesspop & Hels'N'Gregs place, looking good !!!

Also went to the Evans Rd side to see how Melada Parade is going, and discovered my camera's battery hadn't charged when I thought it had, and ended up just having to look with my own eyes at........an open gate

It was very tempting to walk/drive down what is Melada Parade, but thought better of it. Looks like Colendy Close is starting to be scraped out a bit, the loose purple recycle pipes have been moved a bit further into the estate, and it appears there's a few hills near where the small park will go. Not sure if this is a buildup to be removed, or it will be permanent.

Getting closer, slowly.

Sunlk - That price doesn't sound too bad, are you going to use them?

PaulJulian - I wonder if all this rain is going to delay things further? When I drove down there today it was all a boggy mess, including the roads especially where ICK is building. My poor car is now filthy!

Update - our house is now plastered and the cornices are up, just waiting for the kitchen and cabinets to go in now. Our existing house is on the market too, so far we have had 5 inspections and 1 offer which was on the low side so we declined it. Hopefully we will get the right price soon.

How is everyone else?

Ok i dont know how i missed all the fencing remarks :oops:

We used the above for our fencing, the pricing is close too, maybe a dollar or two out.. We also received quotes from other companies & they were all within $5 to $10 of each other. We went with Hallam, because they chase up the neighbours for you & payments

On the down side they dont clean up after themselves, so you have to pick up the off cuts :n:

looking at the invoice we payed $24 per metre (ours was $48), so it looks that the $50 is halved...

yay i worked it out with my brain not working at this hour..

That sounds so much better as $100 per metre was a bit steep.

We are going to be building in stage 9 with Porter Davis (should be ready in Jan 2010 and signing the land contract in a few weeks) and thought I'd share some pics we took over the weekend from the top right hand corner of the estate (stage 7).

As you can see it's all coming along, we didnt expect them to have stage 9 dug out already

Anyone else building in stage 9? I love the fact that we will have out own little reserve in the middle. We will be in Windmill Curcuit looking onto the reserve - great for when we have kids

May I ask where stage 9 is? I had a look at the website and it says that stage 9 isnt even released yet. I'm building in stage 7 so not too far from where you are. Thanks for the pictures, they are slowly getting things done, lets hope there is no more delays as I've waited long enough for it :lol:

Oh and while I was at the MW website, it has just been announced that the primary school will be completed in 2010, and it will open for 2011!! How exciting for all those with little kiddies!! :z:

Hi Emma, welcome to the thread and Marriott Waters. Nice to see the other stages taking shape, we are currently building in stage 2 so I am down there most days keeping an eye on the progress of our new house. It sounds like you have chosen a nice spot near the reserve.

Wonderland - I saw that about the school too, it will be perfect timing for my current 2 year old, he will most likely start there in 2012. I hope they open a childcare centre aswell.

The land sales office isn't releasing the land until 20th June but Porter Davis have approx 40% of this stage and are already allocating their blocks to customers (its first in best dressed). It actually worked out well because we wanted to build with Porter Davis and now we won't have to camp out for land (although I was kind of looking forward to that in a weird way lol).
