Ours were supposed to be going in today so we'll wait and see. ICK So glad the building is over, never again. Loooove our house, but still not quite sure it was worth all of the stress they put us through! Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 502Mar 10, 2009 4:09 pm Oh a posting blitz ![]() I'm sitting here wondering if our house started today? If any of you are online could you let me know? I was going to chuck the kids in the car later and come down for a squizz with my camera ![]() Welcome to the thread TimmyDunlop and Wonderland. Wonderland - Apparently Casey council is very quick in approving plans, average time is only 2 weeks. In our case it was PD who stuffed around for ages afterwards, before (hopefully) starting the house today. TimmyDunlop - Congrats on securing one of the last blocks in your stage, I can't believe they sold so quickly. Have you decided on a PD house yet? Re ADSL - We will stay with ADSL1 with iprimus until ADSL2 is available as we are anti-telstra people ![]() ICK - Great news that your house might be starting soon. Remind me again of which house you are building? (sorry, I still suffer from baby brain ![]() Ness - Did you find out yet how much the block next door to you is selling for? Greg thinks the house next to us is a Cottesloe (can't remember which builder) but it's on the NBG website. Jo - How come you need to have a toilet moved? That sounds like a big job! That sounds like a big job! ![]() ![]() I believe the house we have chosen is the "lisbon24" Supposed to be the same as the Stanford with some changes to the hallway and locations of bed 2 and 3. Only worried that they don't have the lisbon on display or pictures of a finished home so we can't walk through it and see how it feels, so we have to go off the floor plan and use the closest representation, the stanford. I hear you're building starts today! So a congrats on getting the building ball rolling.. how ever 1. You're posting on here instead of taking pictures of your day one progress and 2. You haven't posted up pictures of the progress of day 1! ![]() Amen for less Telstra and more power to the other ISP's! ![]() Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 504Mar 10, 2009 4:49 pm hel-
we upgraded our toilet and the piping was out in wrong so the cistern sits about 2 cm form the wall- nothing aesthetic or function wise- i just want it fixed!! we love living in mw though- just cant wait for the rec center to start and cant help wondering what the other future development along bluemst is going to be Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 505Mar 10, 2009 5:07 pm Wow Timmy, I cant believe all the PD smartliving blocks are all gone!

I had to wait for my 2 year old to wake up and then I had to feed my 11 week old ![]() I'll be armed with my camera and if there's any progress I'll post pics on my blog tonight. I'll also check out your Lisbon 24 on the PD website later. Are you making any changes to it? Jo - I'm curious to know what will go in opposite Bluemist aswell. Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 507Mar 10, 2009 5:45 pm yeah me too but on the update plans it just says " future development" and where the other house are gonna be ( near stage 10 etc it says "future residential..........."
so who knows?? Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 509Mar 10, 2009 7:42 pm Yeah I did drive down there and saw that they had done nothing... oh well! at least the car journey stopped the hysterical baby from screaming for about half an hour ![]() Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. I hope not!! Actually, Alex is pretty good but he always has one unsettled period during the day when he screams for ages. But last night he slept for 9 hours straight so I shouldn't complain ![]() Lets hope they start our house tomorrow ![]() Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 512Mar 10, 2009 8:47 pm Hels_n_Greg, I don't think I've really spoken about the actual house. I want to do either a blog or thread on Homeone but well, I think I'm too computer illiterate to post photos etc.
We are building with a builder called Pro Fine Constructions, how we got to that stage is a very long story and I'll save it for another day - maybe my thread that one day might happen! ![]() Its a custom design home, loosely based on their Woodland 07. We honestly couldn't be happier with them - tell you what if not for this company we'd probably have walked from the building game - they have been that good! TimmyDunlop, have you had a walk through the Stanford? At least that would give you an idea, do they give you much freedom with choices or changes with the smartliving packages? With regard to the "future development", I too picked up the difference between that and the "future residential" when the new overall plan came out last year - (when we bought the shopping precinct was in a different area!) I was wary because it has the highway access, so business development immediately sprung to mind. At the time I spoke to Mai about it, I was assured it would be residential but she couldn't explain the different wording. I don't think she'd have much idea herself to be honest but that was the answer I got. ![]() Thats cruel of PD! Surely they could at least turn up to put a sign up or something, anything!! ![]() ICK So glad the building is over, never again. Loooove our house, but still not quite sure it was worth all of the stress they put us through! Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 513Mar 11, 2009 12:43 am Sad news about the construction, here's hoping to another day ![]() ![]() I'll also check out your Lisbon 24 on the PD website later. Are you making any changes to it? As for checking out the Lisbon, it's not yet on the website, apparently it's a relatively new design, they've only just added the floor plan to there PD Access book. ICK - Had a very thorough walk through the Stanford, loved it and kept thinking... if only this where here.. if only that where there.. PD thought the same thing and created the Lisbon! ![]() Again, being new to all of this, I don't even know what choices I have ![]() PS. It's an Access home I think (Is there a difference with Access and SmarterLiving?). Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 514Mar 11, 2009 9:30 pm Timmy - I had a look for the Lisbon on PD's website so it's no wonder I couldn't find it ![]() ICK - Sounds like you have had a rough time so far so I hope you build goes smoothly. Looking forward to seeing your plan. Unless its an old design that's been taken down ![]() Anywho i'll scan the floor plan at work and throw it up if you're keen on having a look. Hate it? opinions?[/img] Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 518Mar 12, 2009 12:45 pm I think it looks like a really nice plan ![]() A few things to consider for upgrades/additions are; An internal door from the garage which could go through the laundry or the entry hallway. Doors on the home theatre room. Door to the ensuite and WIR. Doors to the study. Making the garage wider (if you have large cars or need more storage) and a rear roller door off the back of the garage in lieu of standard door. Make sure the fridge space is big enough to fit your fridge and add a cold water point if you need it. Sound insulation batts around the home theatre room and anywhere else in the home. Where is your outdoor entertaining area going to be? If it will be behind the garage on the LHS I would put a sliding door in the left side of the family room and remove the window at the back. If it's going to be off the back then leave it as it is. Hope this helps ![]() I'm not sure if there's any action on our block today as it was raining quite heavily this morning and we only live up the road in Lynbrook. Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark, and professionals built the Titanic." Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 519Mar 12, 2009 1:17 pm looking at the 24sq - i'd remove the study and increase the size of the family room and the laundry so that the wall between the two is level with the kitchen.
(that's providing you dont need a study ![]() Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 520Mar 12, 2009 1:32 pm Thats a really nice floor plan!
Will there be a skylight in the bathroom? Being in the middle of the house obviously no windows... I agree with everything Hel_n_Greg said, actually, probably would have said exactly the same thing! ![]() ![]() - Would prefer the internal access from garage coming into the laundry - A cofferred ceiling in the entry would make it a fantastic entrance to your home (I think thats what its called) - not sure if it would be too expensive through PD as an upgrade though. - Not sure how it would change the facade, but I'd prefer the window to the ensuite facing the side of the house - I just don't get ensuite windows facing the street ![]() - The location of the linen cupboard looks like an afterthought on the plan, would it work if you somehow extended the laundry out and whacked it in there? Hard to picture it in person thats all ![]() - Also, what about a door to the home theatre - Are you going to have stools at the kitchen bench? If so, maybe move the entrance to the home theatre down a little bit?? - Not sure about the kitchen sink, mind you everyone has dishwashers these days but its wouldn't be very fun staring at a wall if doing the dishes by hand (a designer once told me that its important to have a long line of sight from the sink - don't ask why but I try to still do what they said) Sorry if it sounds like Im critiquing the plan, just trying to pick up some more ideas for you ![]() |
