We have speedhumpy's in Boland drive now! Hopefully this will cut back the number of cars and massive trucks short cutting through the estate!!!
Shopping Centre and Residents centre coming along really, well linemarking for carparks and bike lanes etc has recently been completed. Can't wait for the Thompson road new section to open up its a bit of a dogs breakfast at the moment... Cheers.

I drove down there today to see how the old place was going - the front garden we worked so hard on looks OK at the moment (good !), and I noticed the 2 new speed humps at the top end of Boland Drive, but I could also see skid marks off the first one (doesn't take long) - is that all they're putting in or are they putting more along Boland ? Seems a bit useless really - and they're not massively high so won't put off the low-riders I think.

Notice that there's traffic lights going in at Thompson's Road - so even more traffic issues in the future until it gets widened

Paul and Jason you guys would be stoked your not stuck in that traffic mess that is the growth corridor of the Semi Rural South East aye?!
They havent bothered to put in the type that still allows cycle traffic to get through there without having to go over the stupid speed humps. In cranny areas they have these. Also the speedhump style differs from the ones in Brookwater Parade as well.
No uniformity there. Those damn speed humps cause mass congestion getting out from Melington to Glasscocks Rd etc!

Maybe if enough ppl email to customer.service@nearmap.com then they might make it free again.
Its a shame to see a great site getting greedy and wanting to charge ppl for what should be a free service.

Yeah but they have to pay for it all some how, it wouldn't be cheap doing fly-overs and satellite imaging let alone hosting it all. Just sucks it's not free anymore.

Does anyone know whats going on with Opticomm fibre optic connections in the area? I'm not sure how I'm going to last in stage 13 without internet. I'll be out of the loop as of tomorrow.

Shopping Centre and Residents Club coming along very well good to see the niice smooth roads nearing completion too! How awesome it will be being able to walk or ride to the shops instead of driving across a train track and down a very busy road!

I called Opticomm as soon as we moved in (a month ago), the lady said it would be live in "a couple of weeks" and I should sign the consent form and pay them asap so they can come out to connect us. I paid them and signed their forms... Rang back after a couple of weeks and was told by another lady that there is no rough date or even a timeframe as Villawood has not given them one. So I rang Villawood (2 weeks ago) and am still waiting for "Nancy" to give me a call back. Its a joke. No TV and no Internet, I feel like I'm living in a village in Africa. Plus I handed over my money possibly months before I needed to!

They didn't mention anything about the developer but I have emailed them again today requesting an explanation.
May be we should all do the same.
It doesn't make sense if the developer is advertising everywhere that we have optic fibre if we don't.. also has any noticed that marriottwaters website is down !!

Speed hump roadworks seem to be dragging on and taking a rather long time.
See how many fools drive along and have to pull a u-turn along Lyndhurst Blvd, despite signing clearly indicating a detour lol!

Open date 6/2/13 for shopping centre and Residents centre public open day is Saturday 9th February 2013 and official opening on Sunday 10th February 2013.

Has everyone had all items on the Opticomm check list checked off? I got told from my builder that I needed to organise Opticomm to come and connect the service, then call the people who did the cabling for the house to test and terminate the points, then get Opticomm back to finish the job. This doesn't sound right to me and the Opticomm check list tells me I should have this completed before they'll come out to do the installation.

Just wondering if everyone else checked everything off the Opticomm list ok or if they have the same issue.

When I called Opticomm to organise the connection they said it was supposed to be ready before Christmas but the estate hadn't notified them that everything was fine to go ahead so seems that it's Marriott Waters holding things up not Opticomm which isn't great but not the worst news. She said connections will start very early in 2013, she was very apologetic about the situation so she must of had some angry people in the past. I was more inquisitive about why everything wasn't ready to go.

I have paid the $550 and completed the checklist by the builder and the cabling company.
I keep calling them and getting the same answer as the one you got.
What gets me is the opticomm website saying that Marriot Waters is ready but actually it is not ready and this is misleading.

Did anyone else hear about the fire that was near Evans rd today? That sure is getting way too close to the area! Neighbour told me how the smoke was billowing from near the Sikh temple.
