You can't miss the damage. At least it slowed people down this morning to check it out it may make them realize the dangers of speeding. We can only hope. Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1222Jul 01, 2011 12:48 am Got this pic of it tonight, looks like significant damage to the feature bridge, with vehicular fluids spilt onto the foot-path. No doubt significant speed was involved in such a collision? A wake up call perhaps to those going hell for leather through the estate! Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1223Jul 03, 2011 4:10 pm Looks like Evans Road is going to be opened up once surfacing etc has been done, which would explain why someone on here recently commented on the alterations to the road markings at intersection of Boland and Evans Rd. Temporary fence along surfacing equipment can be seen near there. Will be great once this throroughfare is opened up! Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1224Jul 03, 2011 9:56 pm That great news if this is the case. I’m only guessing that they have done this to allow traffic to South Gippy Highway but it will also make and the Rat Run through the estate a more viable option to access Western Port Highway once road works commence for the widening of Thompson Rd as they would have to close Thompson road off in stages. This means Evans Rd and Boland Drive would be a viable option when Thompson Rd gets closed off between Western Port and Evans. I don’t know if anyone saw a few months ago Thompson Road had a few lanes closed off between Evans and Westernport during the day for surveyors to do their thing. I think Vic Roads was doing there study. What I’ve written is only what I think could happen, I could be totally wrong. Apparently that could take years until its sorted out, and also funding allocated for such! ![]() Thompson Rd duplication is only going to go ahead once the State Govt gives funding to do so.... Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1226Jul 05, 2011 9:26 pm Now I wonder if this accident along Lyndhurst Blvd at the Wetlands overpass bridge has sparked the council to go into a frenzy of sending out Document KJ6936SC outlining the "Proposed Traffic Management Scheme - Lyndhurst". Once again its a case of the minority (of moronic, irresponsible etc) drivers spoiling it for the majority of us safe drivers. By Installing the Speedhumps where they are proposing to do so will somewhat slow the traffic down, but will be a constant annoyance to those living in houses near where the speedhumps are located, with the vehicles making a thud thud sound every time they go over them. Also not to mention how idiotic hoons seem to find them a fun place to line up their rear wheels and smoke up the tyres, thus leaving "street licorice" marks on the roads. Unfortunately many see this chosen route as a fast short cut to avoid Thompsons Rd and Westernport traffic snarl. If people took a safer attitude and didnt speed then last ditch efforts and quick fixes like this wouldnt be implemented. Sadly its a reflection of the demographic who like to abuse this wonderful area that Lyndhurst is.... Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1227Jul 05, 2011 10:22 pm We got that document too - i think it's necessary, but i can tell why they're not putting humps near the school, because there's 40km/hr signs, so they're thinking people will slow down - hardly likely ![]() I notice that Evans Road has been levelled out from Boland to the railway line - haven't seen it from the Sth Gippy Hwy end yet, but there looks to be a large amount of road base delivered today, and they seem to be getting the sides of the roads ready. I think people will start to take the initiative and use it when it opens. Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1228Jul 06, 2011 7:20 am It is unlikely the accident last week had anything to do with the letter we received yesterday. A few months ago they had cameras in different spots in our estate and melingtons as well as the counters on the roads. Their solution would of been based from the information they gathered off them. Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1229Jul 11, 2011 1:39 am The council didnt even know about these monitoring cameras and no permission was sought to utilise these in the estate! They looked very ad hoc / ******* that's for sure! Anyone else notice the sign on corner Lyndhurst / Boland Drive has been changed to a PD advertising sign?? It used to be a Places advertising sign, and price used to be $397,099 now its $346,066 ... And in the H/Sun paper a few weeks ago, Lyndhurst avg "hold" on properties was only 2 yrs? With other places like Caulfield and Ivanhoe, 16 yrs "hold" Maybe this explains that there seems to be a lot of properties for sale in Lyndhurst? Bring on the new shopping complex I say! Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1230Jul 14, 2011 3:00 am And yet again the price on that sign has dropped down to 335,766 !!! Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1231Aug 17, 2011 2:18 pm Anyone else notice how the rates have sharply increased yet again? Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1234Sep 16, 2011 8:06 am ![]() Anyone know when the shoe box size house blocks at shearwater release will be due for completion, they seem to be taking their sweet ... time! When the shearwater land was released, my wife and I went to the sales office to have a look and see what was being offered. At the time the sales lady told us you could be looking to build around late September/October. Marriott Waters land release has been behind schedule from the start, so shearwater will follow the trend so we could be seeing houses going up around late February/March. I have to love the excuses they use it either the Council or the Weather Let’s see what month in late 2012 is the opening of the shopping centre!!!! Will it follow the trend of the land release and be behind schedule!!!! Very poor that this hasnt been fixed up yet, considering ppl pay a pretty penny for body corporate fees there! Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1236Oct 21, 2011 1:09 pm They most likly have to get a new panel made. Perhaps the the people making the panel are busy. Been here 3 years no fees paid yet, as I understand, there will not be any until the rec centre is up and running as that is the "common property" Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1238Nov 09, 2011 3:53 pm Has anyone noticed that the ill fated "KEEP LEFT" sign in the traffic island right at the end of Glass COCKS Rd where it requires a sharp right into Mellington Drive, on every "other" day seems to be knocked down??? Whats going on here? Big trucks cutting corner, when they use the estate as a shortcut to avoid traffic, or just incompetent morons not watching where they are going and clipping it whilst turning right??? Great to see that finally the street lights at this particular corner have once been energised!!! Evans road surfacing is coming along well, right up to where the Indian Sikh temple it has gutters and bitumen down. As does the nearby estate under construction at Lynbrook, just off Evans Rd near the Sikh Temple...
Cheers 2 all Update: Here is a shot showing what the trucks do regularly to the KEEP LEFT sign by cutting the corners and using our estate as a shortcut to avoid Thompsons Rd / Westernport Roundabout!
