YEY Oh congratulations on getting one big step closer to your settlement - it was sad reading the stress that has been put on you guys.

At least they are admitting wrong and accepting payment - that's got to be a relief.

Well one more hurdle...........we have to take paperwork down to Bendigo tomorrow for our settlement.........that is going to be a long drive!!!!!

Anyway, as long as everything gets done it won't matter that we had to do it ourselves!!!!!

So our settlement is at 3:30pm tomorrow.....finally......still won't be happy until it is all finalised though..........but YAY....we are on our way!!!!!!

By the way......penalty interest cost $456.44 up until tomorrow.....we got the Statement of Adjustment today. As long as we're not paying for it!!!!!!

That's great Tracy & Paul, congratulations..... I am also glad you followed up with the finance group paying for their stuff up, as we did. They can be quite reasonable once it is all pointed out to them....

Yay!!!!!!!!! We finally own dirt!!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!!!! ::party::

We got the docs up to Bendigo by 12:30pm, but they weren't sure if our bank was going to have the bank cheques up to them by the time arranged for settlement as apparently the cheques were being sent down from the banks Sydney office.........didn't spend much time in Bendigo....anyway, on our way back at about 2pm, we called our conveyancer to give her representative in Bendigo a call to see if the chques had arrived, luckily by that time they had so it was all systems go for 3:30pm to roll around!!!!!

Got the phone call from our conveyancer at 3:43pm to say that settlement had all gone through and now we own dirt!!!!!!!

We only just got home at about 4:15pm.......what a day!!!!!!! But it's finally all done!!!!!!!

Now for those celebratory drinks!!!!!!

If you have a conveyancer that had a contact in Bendigo and the bank was organising it's bit, How come you had to go to Bendigo also?????

We didn't get told until yesterday afternoon that we also had to organise a bank cheque for part of the land settlement, this being part of the 5% we have to put toward our home loan as we are borrowing 95%. So we had to rush to organise a bank cheque yesterday afternoon. Then we found out that our conveyancer hadn't yet sent up to Bendigo what she needed to send up, she was just expecting that she'd be able to send it express post yesterday and they would have got it on time today.........we really didn't want to risk that, so we took everything up there ourselves to make sure it got done right!!!!

We recieved a letter today from the builder, to say our water & taps were connected.

The builders start date for our site was last Friday.... So hopefully the pegs are down. By the end of the week it would be nice to see the slab

How is everyone else traveling?

Our builder has to apply for building permits now that we have had land settlement, apparently they did this on Friday last week, along with placing the order for materials.

We have been told 4-6 weeks, but Paul is hoping to push them along a bit to start earlier than that.

Went for a drive down to the block for a look tonight ,to see if we have progress. Well i am please to say 2 or 3 others have their site scraped & look as though things are starting, but not us

Oh well will have to wait till Saturday now for another look, hopefully we have movement by then...

Stage one is looking good, roofs on & looking very busy... looking forward to stage 2 looking them same...

The builder has informed us today that our slab will be started on Wednesday (21st), should be finish the following Thursday...

It is very exciting to drive around stage two.. Seeing all the blocks that have started.... ::cheerleader::

I cant believe i got so excited about dirt being scaped off.... Its pretty cool being able to see where your house is going to sit.

At least when we go down to the block now there will be lots of changes.. Not just for us but others too...

So i'm assuming that alot of people have started the process of building on stage 2? How exciting!! One question, for those who are building single storey homes, how many months will it take you to finish?

I bought in stage 7 so i've got to wait till Feb (at the earliest) until i can start building. it seems so far away! :cry:

We are building with porter davis & have a 16 week build... if they go over they pay your rent

Apparently they have not had to do so as yet..

have you asked you builder how long it takes them to build a single story?

Its very exciting driving around stage 1 & 2 & seeing all the houses growing... And new ones starting...

We are building a 29 square home. Walking around the site today, it looks pretty big.. Bigger that what we are in now, we will double our space...
