As i find it annoying this day in age we dont have a broad range of isp to choose from no matter where we are! Gum boots friendly area for everyone whos building there methinks! mud is for sure. can't really see whether the roads are even sealed. even cant see my driveway covered with mud after heavy rain + truckies I'm pretty certain that all the roads are sealed and done its just they are covered in mud from all the constructions going on around the area and school in Boland Drive. I avoid driving down that way like the plague your' sure to get your car covered in mud! Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1148Jul 25, 2010 2:20 pm Hi all how often you guys going to visit the site. is it every weekend or couple of days a week? This is getting beyond a joke even my parents get internet and they live on an island!! Telstra built a new exchange two years ago. Is it full already? Hopefully they put more ports in soon. Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1152Aug 04, 2010 11:57 pm Mattf20c maybe thats cos your in the area where you can get ADSL etc lol not the section where there are no spare ports at all... Lucky duck if thats the case ! post up a screen cap of the speedtest speed results pls? Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1153Aug 05, 2010 8:00 pm for those of you in the area that can't get internet coz of port availability .. there is hope!! for the last 8mths l've submitted 2-3 applications every week (you do the maths), along with 4 official complaints to telstra, and a letter to both the local federal member, and the local state member. As of monday, l got a new line to the house put in & now have adsl!!! (ok i'd prefer adsl2+, but for now it'll do) If you constantly pester the internet providers (esp those that use telstra) ... and become a big enough pain, they (telstra) will spring off their *** & do something bout it. And this l was informed to do by two providers, as its the only way you'll get it til the national broadband rollout ... or til one of your neighbours disconnects & moves!!! I'm pretty sure I got connected to the cranbourne north exchange (which is down near safeway and I'm not sure why the whole estate doesn't get connected there) which I think explains my speeds. My neighbours are connected to the lyndhurst exchange and they're getting horrible speeds Although I think the phone number you choose when you get your line connected may have something to do with what exchange they put you on.. our number starts with (03) 8xxx xxxx which is what was generally used for cranbourne people.... not sure just speculating ---------------------------------------- Building the PD Lisbon 24 http://www.porterdavis.com.au/#homeviewer/lisbon/24 Blog of our progress. http://lisbon24.blogspot.com/ Homeone build thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28665 Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1155Aug 06, 2010 9:27 am Although I think the phone number you choose when you get your line connected may have something to do with what exchange they put you on.. our number starts with (03) 8xxx xxxx which is what was generally used for cranbourne people.... not sure just speculating [/quote] As we have lived in the area for 20 years I know that the Cranbourne area prefix's which include North, South, East and West start 5995-xxxx or 5996xxxx or 5997xxxx or similar. It is a bit strange that you have a different pre fix if it is coming from the Cranbourne North Exchange. When we moved in 2 years ago, Telstra where building a new exchange in Lyndhusrt, which took several months to complete, so we had no phone line at all, and our pre fix is (03) 8xxx . I am just puzzeld how you can have been connected to a Cranbourne North Exchange with a Lyndhusrt phone number. I don't know how it works, perhaps they can have different prefixed at the exchanges? As long as we can get the internet I guess it does not matter. Originally we got put onto the Carrum Downs exchange with a 9782 number, then moved to Lyndhurst on an 8782 number but can only get ADSL1 or Telstra wholesale services - who are you with, and how did you establish you could get ADSL2+, via an address check initially or the phone number check ? We're with TPG for at least 6 months, will see how it goes, then maybe AAPT unlimited, although since they've been bought out by iiNet, there's been speculation they might drop it. Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1157Aug 07, 2010 2:22 am Hi Paul.Jason, Did you check with internode. since they in the telstra list you will be able to get asdl2+ and they are bit reasonable than telstra. since im still on the construction stage i cant really test this. but when i did my research these are the only guys i thought of have adsl2+ reasonably offered. not sure now. I have to wait till end of this year. Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1158Aug 07, 2010 9:54 am Clueless.... Our checks only really started once they put us onto the phone line and the Lyndhurst exchange, all address checks showed us being on Lyndhurst too Did look at Internode, but TPG are still the most competitive on price for gigs (which is what i really need) - iPrimus offers ADSL2+ on our system, but the gigs still not competitive. Bring on the NBN ! Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1159Aug 07, 2010 11:31 am I've been applying since Jan 27th and now i get like two messages at least per day saying "we're having problems connecting your ADSL internet" etc etc. My number is an ol-skool 9799 prefix , going thru Hammy Park xchange. Absolutely no dice as of yet with regards to all the resubmissions for ADSL application. Got a Vodafone 3g wireless router arriving soon, so thankfully i'll be able to use wireless without dongle in my laptop etc. But still with the woeful speeds though |
