I was wondering if anyone could tell me what are the pros and cons of waffle pod slabs? My builder will only use waffle pod slabs.

Things against: polystyrene is termite friendly and if you jack up a car in garage, jack could punch through. I have seen hundreds of slabs in service and being constructed. Conventional raft slab and waffle can equally be satisfactory and can equally fail because of slab heave. In either case where there is a failure it is not the design but negligence in construction For my money I prefer conventional raft slab.
