I thought I would start a thread that allows for people to show what they really want in their homes but dare not put it in for variety of reasons. I really want a rain shower but the cost and environmental factors are a major consideration. I also love a orange and lime green kitchen as shown below but I dont know if I could dare put this in my kitchen I thought it would be very interesting for others to share indulgences or daring colour and decorating schemes they like but prehaps 'not of the norm' My rain shower with Led lighting...changes colour as you shower, pure indulgence( eco unfriendly prehaps) http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh43/jacck/jaclo-rain-canopy-dream-light.jpg My orange and lime green kitchen, I am seriously thinking about this ...should I or will it date( but so do most kitchens?) http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh43/jacck/kitchen8.jpg Would any body else like to share their 'wish list' Mrs B Re: Rain showers, orange and lime green kitchens...... 2Mar 22, 2008 1:58 pm We all know I want one of these

Also dont have the space for one. Paula Re: Rain showers, orange and lime green kitchens...... 4Mar 22, 2008 3:06 pm I'd love a bath like that but, yes, the thought of trying to clean it means I'd never get one.
And that shower reminds me of somewhere dh and I went for our fifth anniversary, but the shower was in front of a clear glass wall which looked out onto a fernery. And in the fernery was a wood heated bath - you had to light a fire underneath the bath to warm the water and then sit on a plank of wood so as not too burn yourself. Very romantic. We were thinking about having a bath like this at one stage but I don't council or the fire dept would be too happy as we live in a bush fire prone area. I'll just have to be happy with the memories Re: Rain showers, orange and lime green kitchens...... 5Mar 22, 2008 4:04 pm 'chelle, I think some things like that wood heated bath work as romantic occasions in special places but wouldn't do it on an everyday basis in your own home - real life issues like waiting for the wood heating when your'e in a hurry, chopping the wood, splinters from the plank etc would negatively impact on the romantic experience!
I feel this way about spas - love going to hotel honeymoon type suite once or twice a year, relaxing together in giant spa, champagne, bubblebath etc - but am realistic enough to know the effect would wear off on everyday basis, so would not get a spa in bathroom at home. Sorry, Mrs B, can't say the bright lime and orange kitchen (actually bright lime full stop ) works for me. BUT…….this sort of kitchen will need the right house to complement it. Paula, I posted that bathroom nearly a year ago……LOVE it! Have you ever actually tried to shower in the rain. I think this shower would be hopeless to actually shower under Looks great, but for me shower heads need to be a more directional to be effective. As for dreams, - I'm planning my new bathroom upstairs to have a view of the ocean while I shower straight out through foor to ceiling windows, and no - other houses will not be able to look in. Sort of a bit like this one - but I'm a touch further back from the beach. I love the kitchen! BUT…….this sort of kitchen will need the right house to complement it. Paula, I posted that bathroom nearly a year ago……LOVE it! Hi Michelle, Totally agree, the house has to be able to carry it. I have always loved the lime green colour in both kitchens and bathrooms. A friend of mine has a very strong yellow/orange colour for her kitchen cabinets. After 10 years with this colour, her kitchen still has that WOW effect and she told me that the joy she feels every time she walks into the kitchen has not diminished over time. I am going to consider it but it will be a mixture of white cabinets and a wood of some sought. Paula, love that bathroom, everything about it is beautiful...IMHO Steve, I have many mags that have bathrooms over looking the ocean, love it If you are going ahead with yours then really go over the top and make it the best feature of the house As for the rain shower, I agree but who said it had to be practical it just looks great...any way, I notice that people have the normal shower head as well Helyn...agree, it is a colour you love or hate. At least it will make a statement keep the ideas coming... I love this Japanese inspired bathroom - with a modern twist to it - that tub looks sooo inviting! And that wine cellar is awesome... the detail in the wood is unbelievable. We would eventually like to get a "wine cellar" - of the electric variety, but have read the reports from the cheaper models and they are pretty poor for efficiency and power usage. We will need to save up a few thousand for a decent model one - and until then being stored on their side in the bottom of the linen cupboard will have to do.
