Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jul 24, 2012 11:19 pm Long story short is that I'm an OB amd have taken over a building project for which the plans were done by my parents about 2-3 years ago. The build has started and I would like to make some changes to some of the windows. For example remove one window completely (small 40x40 cm approx), change to medium size windows to one single window and change the height of two others. I know I should speak to my inspector and I will, but the reason I'm asking here is firstly because my inspector is overseas and can't be contacted at this exact moment and secondly I'm hoping that somebody here may have gone thru a similar experience and may be able to offer some advice. Thanks in advance for the help. Re: Adding and Removing Windows During Build 2Jul 25, 2012 10:40 am 1. If the plans were subject to a planning application originally then a 'variation' to the planning application will be required in most cases. 2. Light & Ventilation requirements to habitable rooms will need to be met (maintained). 3. Linel sizes & jamb stud sizes will need to be adjusted if the documentated span widths are increased. 4. The 'Energy Rating' documentation will need to be revised. Peter Clarkson - AusDesign Australia www.ausdesign.com.au This information is intended to provide general information only.
