Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jul 20, 2012 4:44 pm I'm after some help. We accepted the house built by PorterDavis. There is one item written on the Inspection Cert of Completion by PD's supervisor that is the "Inconsistent mortar color", PorterDavis will fix within 14 days. Part of it is white, other is not. But after 6 months it still has not been fixed. And now they said " Nothing wrong with the mortar color ", they don't fix it. That PD's supervisor was gone. Even our private inspector said in the report " the mortar color is inconsistent". Pls advise what can I do ? I really want to take this matter to the Current Affair. W Re: PorterDavis Inspect Cert of Completion items not complet 2Jul 21, 2012 1:53 pm You need to request the builder to rectify the fault, IN WRITING. Send your letter by registered mail, enclosing a copy of their certificate with the notation as well as a copy your independent inspector's report. In your letter, give them a deadline to respond - if they don't meet it, contact Consumer Affairs http://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/contact-us/make-a-complaint for further advice. It's important that you have a written record of your request and that you're specific about exactly what you want done and by when. Phone calls are useless, as there's no real record of what was said by whom. Hopefully the builder responds to your letter and you get the issue resolved quickly. If that doesn't happen though, you follow the legal process - and the first step is to get the correct advice from Consumer Affairs. Good luck. Congratulations! Nice to put that to bed before christmas, now you can relax 3 7183 The best advice is for you to get a competent building consultant to guide you through your build 7 4687 The significant date is when receive final payment invoice Check that section of contract Bit of fluff by builders prior to that 1 15952 |
