Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jul 13, 2012 2:20 am Hi all, When I built back in the mid 90's, the builder ran the pipes through the slab (no problems there) and then ran them outside the wall (Ok by us as well). Now I've heard that builders use black PVC piping and run it through walls and over ceilings. My worry is that when i build that these will explode or deteriorate in time due to the very low temps in the Southern Highlands and flooding and water damage comes to be a major problem . What has been your experience with this? So what does that all mean? Pretty tough stuff. I saw a house built a few years ago and the water pipes were nothing more than what I'd use for irrigating the garden bed, the connections were even the same . I was horrified. I'm relieved now that they are better quality. Out of curiosity, do these pipes have problems with rats or possums being able to chew through them easily?
