Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 30, 2012 8:29 pm The time has finally come to get my old house knocked down - and I had better get it arranged next week as someone has been in the old house, and there is a letter from Synergy to say someone is using electricity at the house without an account.... Question: is the price for this paid upfront, in stages or at knockdown? Just so I can juggle budgets while mortgage matters are still whirling madly away. Christine. Re: Demolition question Perth 2Jul 01, 2012 7:30 pm We paid for our demolition once the Demo was completed however our relationship with our contractor was very casual. I would think maybe a small deposit and the rest on completion. Our demo took 1 week. This included asbestos removal and 18 skip bins of junk from the backyard. It took three week to get permits and organise services etc to be cut off etc. Good luck - we had squatters as well. Re: Demolition question Perth 3Jul 01, 2012 8:28 pm Thank you Charnley! Squatters - yes, I'm hoping that if I move fast enough I can prevent anyone taking up residence. I don't think it would be fun to have to convince people to move on. The kind of payment schedule you had would work nicely for my budget, too. Thanks again, Christine Re: Demolition question Perth 4Jul 01, 2012 9:02 pm Nothing like a big bulldozer to convince people to move on. Re: Demolition question Perth 5Jul 29, 2012 5:23 pm I've got a demolitioner, and I've just been back to sort out the remaining wheelie bin (yellow). The vultures are back - the oil pan and oil that some bugger used to change the oil on his car - using my driveway - is still there, and the back patio has sprouted furniture! At lest Synergy has already cut the power wires.... That bulldozer keeps looking better and better! We had this happen to us last year and got charged a variation. Try and give away as much as you can that is usable to charity otherwise if you are in Sydney I have a… 1 4464 We've had the offer of a short term tenant whilst waiting for CDC/DA home approval and demolition for our knock down rebuild. It would achieve a pretty low rent as it's… 0 13691 I am not sure whether Perth has its own way of doing things in regards to this. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 12983 |
