Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jul 03, 2012 8:35 pm I am hoping someone can give me some help in relation to inside tv aerials. we are moving into our new house this week and have just found out that we wont have the fibre optic connected for 3 to 4 weeks. this means no tv reception. option is to put a inside aerial preferably in the garage so i can connect to the aerial splitter already installed so both tvs can get reception. ( will only run 1 at a time if i have to) BUT what one do i buy - there are so many and pricing varies. do i go rabbit ears or a dedicated digital omni-directional aerial like http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/hi-fi-home-audio/accessories/one-for-all-amplified-indoor-digital-hd-tv-antenna/657336 http://dicksmith.com.au/product/L4068/dick-smith-omni-directional-digital-indoor-tv-antenna http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=LT3134&CATID=&keywords=antenna&SPECIAL=&form=KEYWORD&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID= http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=LT3137&form=CAT2&SUBCATID=1016#4 Please help as a child without tv for that time will be unbearable MDJ Homes - Bordeaux 14 + now with improvements Re: digital tv aerial help - no fibre for a month 2Jul 03, 2012 8:52 pm I like the sound of the jaycar antenna, with the male F plug it should screw straight into your splitter, every connection and adaptor makes the signal worse! I would quiz the guys at Jaycar, see if they will take it back if it does not work! I have heard that you can't amplify a digital signal, it's either there or not! But the amplification will help with the cabling between the antenna and the tv! Depending on your area though, all indoor antennas maybe pointless! They usually only work in good to excellent reception areas, if you can get a take it home and try it option it would be best! 2 Re: digital tv aerial help - no fibre for a month 3Jul 03, 2012 10:21 pm thanks stormjr. thats a top idea. will definitely ask the question - i suppose if they reluctant to do so then one would have to question their product.
