Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 29, 2012 7:40 am Just a few days ago I inspected this home under construction for the owner who heard about me from a work colleague but also found me on this forum. He wasn't getting anywhere with the builder with his complaints. The builder who almost never comes up on a complaint radar with me and who I think generally does a decent job dropped at the ball on this one "big time". This is why I don't like recommending builders because then next one could be a "dog house" instead preferring just to see it as it comes and call it as I see it on the day. This owner is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on the biggest investment of his life and his house could potentially already be ruined. Why? Because builder is employing sub standard supervisor and is not in control of his quality assurance. Perhaps the worst part of foundation flooding could have been avoided had I been involved at the start of the build check out the photos http://www.buildingexpert.net.au/blog/b ... egligence/ Foremost Building Expert in Australia, assisting with building problems/disputes, building stage inspections,pre-contract review advice for peace of mind 200 blogs http://www.buildingexpert.net.au/blog Re: Why this new home may already be doomed? 2Jun 29, 2012 7:45 am Just curious mate how thick should house slab be for a p site? 2 brick high or 3? http://www.betterthansheets.com.au - Why use sheets for curtains in your brand new home use Better Than Sheets Temporary Paper blinds instead! If you have not been given the drawings by the builder ask for them. The fact that they previously approved your 25sqm patio will be irelevant 1 5510 I engaged my builder in December last year and we’ve been working on preliminary drawings for last couple of months. I got a call from the salesperson this morning… 0 586 That sucks! Hope it all works out. Good to move away from steel anyway for all your reasons, but it's also thermally poor. 16 17895 |
