Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 17, 2012 8:25 am Can I ask all of you out there who have had Reno works done this question. I obtained a guy to do my bathroom. I accepted his quote and gave him the dates that would suit me to get this work done. I only have one bathroom so this would mean getting out of the place including getting pets out of the way so planned to get work done during leave from work. I gave him these dates more than 2 months ago. Despite contacting him, I have hadn't confirmation as yet to this date, nor any other for that matter. Now, with a month to go to my leave, I am no longer Able to be flexible with dates ( could have moved leave forward or back a bit if necessary), haven't obtained the vanity, tiles or toilet and don't have a place for the pets. I know this guy is busy. He always has a lot of work on. He was highly recommended. But should I pull the pin? Get the work done when I can be more flexible with dates and am able to make arrangements? Is it unreasonable to want a start date one month out? Nor should I go to a company rather then a guy who works for himself to get a more defined start time? Re: Confirming date for confirming works 2Jul 02, 2012 8:37 pm Obviously you are no longer flexible on your dates so you better get in touch with the guy and ask him firmly if he can finish the job within the time frame you specified or you just need to get somebody else or a company who can do the job while you are on your leave. I’ve also had a DA approved to build a deck. It looks like I can do this… 0 4783 Fair Trading can issue orders to rectify and complete but once the matter goes to NCAT these orders are automatically vacated.
