Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 06, 2012 4:57 pm Hi, got an issue with some water seeping through into the garage when it rains, single brick wall. I think the issue is related to the tin shed the builder put hard up against the back of the garage wall. The roof of the shed is on an angle so when it rains water flows back towards the wall and builds up but the area the water is seeping from doesn't appear to be level with the roof touching the wall its actually just below it by about 50mm. The brick that is level with the shed doesn't appear to be soggy like the others. It still leaves the possibility that only the rain water hitting that part of the wall is causing the seeping. It's not a major issue, the garage floor does get small puddles when it rains for a while but I'm concerned it could turn into a major issue. The brick wall is now green with algae. I plan on moving the tin shed on the weekend to create a gap between the shed and the wall (I can't gap it with a spacer as its too tight.) My question is, if I move the shed and rain hitting the brick wall still causes seepage, would some sort of clear sealant from say Bunnings do the job here? Is the issue that the re is no sealant or is it bad concrete mixture? I'm also concerned about the sealant making the brick work noticeably a different colour. Re: Water seeping through brick wall 3Jun 14, 2013 7:01 pm Standard clay house bricks are porous, that's why there is a cavity in a wall, and why there are weep holes.
