Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 02, 2012 2:34 pm I've been reading old posts - 2010 regarding acrylic splash backs and was wondering if anyone has some uptodate tips and advice. We are our own kitchen after being quoted over $13k for just the cupboards, cabinets, and splashback. We've already pulled out the old one, bought appliances, and have done all the had yakka already. We'd really like the acrylic s/b - but one blog stopped me in my tracks - not recommended for gas cook tops! We have selected a free standing gas cook top and electric oven. Has anyone a similar experience and pass on advice. Also looking for reliable supplier in Wangara, Joondalup or any north of Perth area. Re: Acrylic Splashbacks w/free standing gas cooker/electric 2Jun 03, 2012 7:01 pm The research I did showed that they would not normally use an acrylic behind a gas stove-top. They would put stainless steel there and acrylic around it. 2 15471 Hi Alex, Thanks for the reply again.
