Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 28, 2012 6:01 pm We have just built a house and we have a Rheem continuous gas hot water system and also Caroma Irwell pin mixer taps in both showers so everything is brand new. The problem is as follows. When the shower is set at a certain temp and we would like to raise the temp and adjust the pin mixer to do so, the temp drops. Some times when we lower the pressure also the temp can drop. The temp will not raise from the decrease until i raise the pin mixer at a very high level untill all the cool water has been eliminated from the pipes out into the shower and until scolding hot water comes out. I was adamant that this was a mixing problem so I rang "Caroma" and discussed this problem with the tech department and the guy said he had heard this a million times and basically said "This is a hot water delivery problem" that all continuous hot water systems suffer from. ....(Ive never used a continuous hot water system so I had to take his word for it until I ring Rheem) I email Rheem and they called me back. They basically said that how you mix a continuous system is you turn it on hot (with the individual hot tap) and then you bring in the cold (with individual cold tap) ....I told them thats what I do with my solo "Pin mixer" tap and then was told my tap was not compatible by the lady. What I would like to know is ...is this a common problem or common knowledge that pin mixers should not be used with continous gas hot water systems? any help or advice with this would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. Re: Shower tempreture flow problems. Blame game Rheem ,Carom 2May 29, 2012 4:31 pm I've got an instantaneous gas hot water system which I think is the same type as you and unfortunately I have the same problem with my kitchen mixer tap. It helps a little to turn down the temp on the hot water system so you can have the tap more 'open' without burning yourself. Good luck with it. I don't know what the cost of a nice bidet seat with a 25mm air gap will be but you are obviously deducting the cost of a RPZ valve and its… 9 6974 You may still have a case, but your next step is to speak to a lawyer. 3 1607 I am not a brick expert, but rendering would be 1 option, it would be costly to do the entire house though.... 2 6673 |
